PRT – Pleasure Reading Time
In an effort to improve reading comprehension and to encourage a life-long love of reading, I will incorporate Pleasure Reading Time (PRT) into my class. Students WILL NOT be tested on these reading materials; however, a reading participation grade will be given at my discretion. Students should bring reading materials with them to class every day because PRT can occur at any time. Students may bring reading material from home if they would like (even magazines or newspapers), or they can check out books from the library. We will most likely not be able to use class time to go to the library, so students need to check out books when they can find time. My goal is to improve students’ reading comprehension and vocabulary development by increasing the amount of time students spend reading.
